Patty Rocklage Psychotherapist and Philanthropist

Patty Rocklage is a dedicated, experienced, and accomplished professional who graduated from USC in 1981 and has been practicing her profession, Psychotherapy, in the Boston area for more than 20 years. Her practice is open to individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing the many difficult life struggles faced by families and couples in our American society.

She and her husband, Scott Rocklage Ph.D., recently made a major donation for the renovation of Building 2 at MIT. It was here at MIT that Scott Rocklage completed his Ph.D. studies under Nobel Prize winner, Richard R. Schrock.

On July 18, 2016, Dr. Scott Rocklage, Ph.D. ’82, and his wife Patty toured the Department as part of the celebration of their magnanimous gift to help with the costs associated with the recent renovation of the Lester Wolfe Professor of Chemistry lab. Their efforts helped renovate Moungi Bawendi’s nanochemistry and nanotechnology lab space in Building 2.
Dr. Scott Rocklage carried out his Ph.D. studies at MIT in the Chemistry Department.
At the completion of the tour headed by Professor Bawendi and accompanied by two of his top graduate students, Whitney Hess and He Wei, the members of the tour group gathered in the vestibule of the lab where there is a plaque honoring the Rocklages for their generous contribution.

The story of Patty Rocklage and her husband, Scott, and the generous contribution they have made to education is an important example of successful people giving part of their life’s earning to help education achieve its goal of making the world a better, healthier place to live and work.
