Dr. Mark Holterman Needs International Volunteers

The field of medicine has many facets and one of the most important and often overlooked areas are the volunteers who dedicate their time and services to clinics, hospitals and all types of care centers. Dr. Mark Holterman is a practicing surgeon, professor, entrepreneur, researcher and philanthropist and through his philanthropic interests he not only is known for his generous donations but he also donates his time too many charities. A Need for Voluntarism

Dr. Holterman efforts to support ISPAC-VN are publicly acclaimed and the ISPAC-VN is known for its charity work in Vietnam. It offers aid to sick children with the latest advances in surgery and medical care. The doctor is searching for volunteers and donations to support this group and its efforts to bring relief to the children of Vietnam. The Children’s Surgery International (CSI) and ISPAC-VN need money, pediatric surgeons and nurses to help at Vietnam’s Provincial Hospital and other locations for children and families living in extreme poverty. The services offered by these volunteers include tumor removal, brain surgery, congenital heart disorders, organ transplants, bone surgery and spinal surgery. The training of local medical staff is desperately needed and the requirements to volunteer for these services requires a valid passport and the ability to spend 6 months or longer in Vietnam. A copy of a valid medical license and a complete CV is also required.

Dr. Mark Holterman is a full professor at the University of Illinois School Medicine. He is a graduate of Yale and earned his MD at the University of Virginia. He’s the attending pediatric surgeon at St. Francis Medical Center, Advocate Christ Children’s Hospital and Rush University Medical Center’s chief pediatric surgeon.
