David McDonald is the current President and Chief Operations Officer of the OSI Group. The OSI Group is an American holding company of meat processors. OSI Group was founded in 1909 in Chicago, United States and serves both retail and food service industries. OSI Group’s headquarters is located in Aurora, Illinois. Mr. McDonald was born and raised in the North western part of Iowa. He graduated from the Iowa State University with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science. He then started his career at OSI Group as a Project Manager. At that time he was also the Chairman of the North American Meat Institute. Mr. David McDonald worked tirelessly over the years to become the President the OSI Group that he is today. Aside from that, David McDonald is also a member of the Board of Directors at OSI Group and the Director of the OSI International Foods in Australia.
As President, David McDonald is working hard to sustain OSI Group. He ensures that the Group has a logistics team with employees that have the necessary experience and expertise required in the global market. According to him, the logistics team must work hand in hand with the local management team to ensure smooth flow of operations. Mr. McDonald has also ensured that OSI Group has the required offices and facilities across the world. These offices are essential in running the activities of the Group in America and overseas since the firm mostly carries out large operations.
Baho Food is a Dutch company that specializes in deli meat and processing of other food products. Baho has five subsidiary companies which operate in Germany and Netherlands. Recently it was acquired by OSI Group. McDonald was in full support of the move as he thought it was a perfect strategy to give the OSI Group a broader presence in Europe. According to David, Baho’s portfolio of products compliments OSI’s currently processing strengths. Under David McDonald’s leadership the group now has ten facilities in China for poultry production, an area they have been operating for the past 20 years. The facilities are now offering their services to Starbucks, Burger King, and Subway.
